Two-factor Authentication
Genius Yield Smart Liquidity Management is a web application. Users have access to more advanced features like FIAT, dashboard, API token, wallet, and governance. The primary method to connect to the Genius Yield Smart Liquidity platform will be to use a password; given how easily hackers can steal password and username combinations, two-factor authentication is the best way to protect sensitive data from theft.
Two-factor authentication, also known as 2FA, two step verification or TFA (as an acronym), is an extra layer of security that is known as “multi factor authentication” that requires not only a password and username but also something that only the specific user has, i.e. a piece of information only known to him/her or have immediately at hand — such as a physical token.
Genius Yield will use Google Authenticator:
Google Authenticator is a free app for smartphones that generates a new code every 30 seconds. It works like this: When enabling 2FA, the application generates a QR code that users scan with their phone camera to add the profile to their Google Authenticator app. The user’s smartphone then generates a new code every 30 seconds for the second part of authentication on the Genius Yield web application.
